About

This Project

RSK has worked with Otium and Emissive to create a new immersive experience that allows visitors to explore the Great Pyramid of Giza, one of the seven wonders of the world and land of the pharaohs.

Our work consisted of converting two separate units into one cohesive space. Through careful planning of the partition work, lighting and informative graphics, visitors taken from the reception area, through a large ancient doorway into the briefing area where they are given specialised virtual reality equipment. From there visitors explore 1000 sq meters of ancient ruins the and navigate the river Nile by boat to attend the funeral of King Khufu, all through a fully immersive collaborative virtual reality experience.

The existing retail space required substantial floor levelling to ensure a uniform and visually appealing surface. Special attention was given to accommodate visitors in the VR space, with gradual ramps installed for the debriefing and fire exits safely away from the VR space to minimise trip hazards

Lighting was also a key part of the project, ensure that the correct Lux levels were kept throughout the VR space so the tracking equipment could work optimally.

Safety was a top priority, as such RSK worked closely with the Westfield Centre Management team to ensure that the sprinkler and fire alarm systems were updated to adhere to their updated standards of quality.

The façade of the store was adorned with captivating graphics and branding elements that reflected the client’s identity. The illuminated signage was also carefully designed to stand out in the bustling shopping centre.

RSK worked along side the Client and Westfield Stratford City to ensure all work adhered to their brand and technical guidelines.
