Education

Skipton Parish Primary School

When undertaking an education construction project, the risk assessments and planned procedures must take into consideration the staff and students as well as the workers. We have compiled the essential checklist covering the most important aspects to think about when working on a school site.

Schools are often faced with tight timescales (and not to mention budgets!), so we work closely with the school throughout every stage of the project to maintain a smooth process.

About

This Project

Working within live environments, such as schools, presents unique challenges that a construction company must face to deliver a project successfully.

All work within an education environment must be DDA compliant (Disability Discrimination Act of 2005).

This project consists of the construction of a two-storey entrance and reception block, complete with internal mezzanine wall, reception hatch, lift installation and storage.

The building itself is a blockwork built construction with through silicone render finish and aluminum windows and doors.

The mains drainage had to be rerouted therefore requiring the play area to be resurfaced.

Following all preparation which includes installing welfare and hoardings, the construction of the new school extension ran the course of a 15-week program
